Healthy Halloween Tips

Are you dreading Halloween as a tempting time to overindulge on sweets and treats? You can still participate and pass out treats to children from the neighborhood; and take the temptation out of the holiday without losing out on the fun.  Instead of sugary sweet treats, think of non-food items to give away. Some great ideas include pencils, stickers, miniature toys, spider rings, whistles, coins, balloons, etc. Check out the Halloween sections of your local stores for more ideas.

If this is the case, then you need to start believing in yourself. Many challenges take some faith. For example, think about when people go to school or accept a new job. They may have asked many “what if” questions. However, “what if” questions are usually responded to with “I will…” answers.

Dish It Up and Lose The Pounds

Ever notice how large the platters are at your favorite places like Outback or Houston’s? Portion control will help you lose weight. However, with the 12-inch plates and large drinking glasses or coffee cups that are often found in households and restaurants today, smaller portions can look disappointingly small. When you see a little scoop of food served on a large dish, you might feel deprived. Even though that small serving can be physically satisfying, the sight of it can make you feel negative emotionally.

Meal Replacements- Smart or SMART?

Studies have shown that meal replacements help with weight control. One study shows that meal replacements can help maintain weight loss over 10 years! The participants had substituted 2 regular meals and 1 (of 3) daily snacks with meal replacements to lose weight. Then they replaced one meal and one snack to maintain the loss. They were also encouraged to return to their weight loss plan whenever they gained more weight.

A Positive Approach for Weight Loss

Positive thoughts can help keep you motivated and feeling good on your Diet Center Program. Think about how coaches and team leaders provide encouraging words to inspire and help guide a team to succeed. Similarly, you should talk to yourself positively to push yourself to succeed. One strategy you can try is to consider two kinds of thoughts: positive and negative. You can start by recording your thoughts in a journal.In one column record any negative thought you find yourself saying.
